
Power is knocked out at about 30 houses in Monroe after a semi truck pulls down utility poles and power lines.
According to a news release from the Monroe Police Department the incident occurred on the east side just after 11:00 Thursday morning.
While there were no reported injuries or fires, about four square blocks within the perimeter of 7th and 8th Streets, and 21st and 22nd Avenues were left without power.
The Monroe Fire Department and Alliant Energy responded to the scene.
Police are still investigating how the truck got hooked onto the power lines.
