The School District of Beloit is getting behind the food truck craze.
Superintendent Dan Keyser says Cruisin’ Cuisine and The Lunch Box were purchased for about $410,000 using Fund 50, which is used for food and community service activities.
The trucks are owned by the district and staffed through Aramark, it’s food service contractor.
Keyser says food on the trucks will be free to anyone 18 and under. They can also be used for fundraisers and sporting events to sell concessions to the public.
