The YWCA Rock County kicks off Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October with one if their biggest events of the year on the last day in September.

Executive Director Angela Moore says Walk a Mile in Her Shoes will take place Thursday, September 30th at the Pontiac Convention Center in Janesville.

The event encourages men to wear high heels while participating in a one mile walk.

The event also includes dinner, a silent auction, and speakers.
