The Beloit police department makes five arrests in connection with a Saturday shooting on the city’s near-East side.
21-year-old Raymond Gosha, 23-year-old Steve Brock, 22-year-old Garrett Rocha, 19-year-old Tarious Armstrong and 22-year-old Devonte Cordier are all facing suspected charges of attempted homicide for a shooting in the 1600 block of Dewey Avenue that caused non-life-threatening injuries for a 27-year-old woman and 48-year-old man.
Police are still seeking people of interest in a pair of shootings Friday night that officers believe involved the same suspect vehicle.
The first shooting killed a 20-year-old Beloit man in the 1800 block Fayette Avenue. Less than two hours later, the second shooting in the 600 block of Woodward Avenue left a 25-year-old woman with non-life-threatening injuries.
Beloit Police Chief Andre Sayles called the violence unacceptable and is urging the community to come forward with information about these crimes.
