An aquatics evaluation finds renovations are needed at one of Janesville’s oldest water facilities.
City Manager Mark Freitag said they brought in Madison-based Parkitecture + Planning to review the condition of Janesville’s water features.
Their report showed that the Palmer Park Wading Pool has reached the end of its useful life.
The children’s play area was first built back in 1936.
Freitag said the renovation will go into the city’s capital improvement plan and be spread out over the next few years.
The technical evaluation also found that the 40-year-old Rockport Pool is still operating in a reliable condition.
