The Rock County Medical Examiner releases the name of the 39-year-old Hartford woman who was killed Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash just before 8:00 a.m. on October 3rd at the intersection of HIghway 81 and County K in the Town of Avon.
Investigators determined that a car driven by Angela J. Berres was trying to cross Highway 81 and failed to yield the right of way to a tanker truck, which unsuccessfully tried to swerve to avoid the collision.
The semi overturned into a wooded area while Berres’ vehicle came to rest in a nearby field.
Berres later died from her injuries at the hospital. The 21-year-old semi truck driver from Elkorn was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital.
