The Children’s Museum of Rock County becomes closer to reality as the Board of Directors narrows down the options for a permanent location to two downtown properties.

Board Member John Westphal says the non-profit has been working with Forward Janesville which agrees the former Chase Bank building in downtown Janesville is the top choice for a proposed Children’s Museum of Rock County.

Westphal says the second choice is two City-owned lots just north of the Hedberg Public Library along the Rock River.

Westphal says the children’s museum is looking to raise about $5.5 million and locating in the Chase Bank building would mean money wouldn’t have to be spent constructing a building.
