The Hy-Vee grocery store chain is one step closer to moving into the vacant Shopko building on Janesville’s northeast side.  The city’s Alcohol License Advisory Committee Tuesday morning approved changes to the city’s liquor license ordinance to help Hy-Vee establish a bar and restaurant inside its proposed grocery store.  Committee members were concerned alcohol might be consumed outside the restaurant area, but a Hy-Vee representative assured them signs would be posted and personal trained in prevention.  City Economic Development Director Gale Price says the changes will allow future developments to use the same business model.  The ALAC also unanimously approved sending a positive recommendation for Hy-Vee’s liquor license application to the city council.
