The Rock County Medical Examiner is releasing the name of the 69-year-old Beloit man who died early Sunday morning in a fire in the basement of a pool hall.

The Beloit Fire Department was called to the Carom Room Pool hall in the 600 block of East Grand Avenue about 2:00 Sunday morning.

The body of Sherman L Van Antwerp was found inside the basement where it appears the fire started.

The Rock County Medical Examiner says preliminary results of the autopsy indicate that Van Antwerp died from injuries sustained in the fire.
