The deadline has passed for candidates to turn in nomination papers for the City Council elections in Janesville and Beloit.

In Janesville there will be at least one new face on the council with seven candidates seeking three open seats.

In addition to Incumbents Paul Benson and Paul Williams, the candidates includes newcomers Brian Bridges, Aaron Burdick, Thomas Lepinski, Steph Meiklejohn, and Richard Neeno.

Incumbent Susan Johnson is not seeking re-election.

In Beloit there will be at least two new faces with five candidates seeking four open seats.

In addition to Incumbents Regina Dunkin and Kevin Leavy, the candidates include newcomers Kevin Day, Regenia Stevens, and Markese Terrell.

Incumbents Brittany Keyes and Mark Preuschl are not seeking re-election.

The election is April 5th.
