The City of Janesville Recreation Division offers a nationwide, instructional program preparing three to five-year-olds for organized sports without fear of competition. According to a news release, during the Start Smart Sports Development program, parents will work with kids and the instructor to learn basic throwing, kicking, catching, and batting skills. The goals include increasing individual skill development, and assisting parents in understanding their child’s interests. It’s offered Wednesdays starting March and running into April at Roosevelt and Van Buren Elementary Schools.
