The Janesville Police Department employees and citizens are recognized at Rotary Gardens for their community work and contributions. JPD Detective Justin Stubbendick presents Detective Dennis J. LeCaptain with the Police Officer of the Year Award. Stubbendick says LeCaptain started his career in 1992 as a patrol officer and served in a variety of roles, most recent one being a detective. Stubbendick says during LeCaptain’s career, he’s been assigned to investigate some of the most difficult and horrific crimes day in, day out, year after year, and he’s always delivered. The Janesville Police Department Awards Night took place Thursday night, LeCaptain’s last day before retirement.
