The Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin experiences a delay in delivery of the kennels it needs to operate it’s new shelter off of County Highway G.

While construction on the new facility between Janesville and Beloit is slated to wrap up in the next couple of weeks, the shelter likely won’t open until May or June.

Executive Director Jim McMullen says lead times changed since the Humane Society was first quoted on the equipment.

McMullen says the Humane Society is bringing a lot of the kennels from it’s current shelter but not enough to meet it’s capacity needs on a daily basis.
