Local residents wishing to give blood before summer can do so today and next week in Janesville. Wisconsin Red Cross Regional Communications Manager Laura McGuire says traditionally during the summer they see a decline in blood inventory with schools out and people vacationing. McGuire says 80 percent of blood is collected at the school level and with students out, a decline is present that way too. With summer months approaching, people are asked to plan ahead and give blood now. A news release says blood donation opportunities in Janesville are today 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at UAW 95 Union Hall, and Monday 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Janesville Masonic Center.
