Downtown Janesville’s Town Square is getting a new addition in the form of a welded sculpture called Gloria the Eagle.
Art in Place Alliance Co-Chair Sue Burkart says Gloria will be unveiled during a public ceremony on June 24th at 5:00 p.m.
Each of Gloria the Eagle’s feathers is individually detailed and welded by Lazcano. Her patina and size mirror a real bald eagle. She is perched atop a steel tree limb on a base of Niagara Dolomite rocks.
The sculpture, which was donated by the Bob and Nancy Kimball family, will be located in the bio-retention are near the Bubbler.
