pfas-testing

Wisconsin and states nationwide are facing challenges related to forever chemicals called PFAS, which have been manufactured and used for years in everyday items such as nonstick cookware, water-resistant clothing, and personal care products.

The City of Janesville is participating in the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ voluntary statewide investigation into PFAS in drinking water.

Water Utility Superintendent Craig Thiesenhusen says although the City tests it’s water regularly and has never detected PFAS, this round is being being done at no cost to the City.

Thiesenhusen says the testing was done last week, and he should see the results in a few days.
