A Whitewater Unified School District staff member is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

Whitewater Police say officers responded to the intersection of East Clay and South Wisconsin Streets just after 10:00 p.m. on July 22nd on the report of a suicidal male.

Officers identified the man as 34-year-old Anthony P. Hansen of Whitewater and determined that he had been in an ongoing sexual relationship with a minor. It was also found that he is an employee of the school district.

Hansen was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault by of a child by a school staff person

According to a news release, police are working closely with the school district on the investigation.
