Beloit fire officials are looking into the cause of a fire on the city’s west side.  Firefighters were called to the 2100 block of St. Lawrence Avenue just after midnight Monday.  Officials say the fire appears to have started in the kitchen of the two-story, single-family home and was working its way to the second floor.  Two adults, home at-the-time, say they were awoke to the smell of smoke.  No one was reported injured.  Firefighters were on scene for about two-and-a-half hours.  Beloit got help from the Town of Beloit, South Beloit, and Janesville Fire Departments.
