World Read Aloud Day takes place next Wednesday and the Hedberg Library is finding ways to celebrate.

Youth Services Associate Julie Swenson says the day has been around for about 10 years, but they’ve been celebrating for the last three years and it’s a great way for communities to come together and celebrate the power of reading aloud.

Swenson says they’re welcoming a number of community leaders to read at the event including Beth Tallon from Community Action, City of Janesville’s Erin Davis, Janesville School District Superintendent Mark Holzman, Lisa Hurda from Blackhawk Tech and Sergeant Ben Thompson from the J-P-D.

The event is free and available for all ages and will take place at the library’s Fireplace Room from 4:00 to 6:30pm Wednesday night.
