Rock County gets a little reassurance that it is doing the right thing when it comes to spending opioid settlement money.

The county received one of the inaugural awards for Excellence in the Application of the Opioid Litigation Principles.

Public Health Strategist Shari Faber says the county started about a year ago with a workgroup to try to figure out the best way to spend the money they learned they would be getting.

Faber says the group decided the most important thing to start with was to look at the needs in the community.

The full report with recommendations on how to utilize National Opioid Settlement funds was prepared by the Rock County Public Health Department and presented to the Rock County Board of Supervisors on September 8, 2022.
