The 51-year-old Beloit man who’s accused of striking the police officer who was attempting to arrest him after a motorcycle crash makes his initial appearance in Rock County Court.

Aaron C. Turner is charged with fifth offense operating while intoxicated, battery to a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer, disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property, and operating while revoked.

Janesville Police and Fire responded to a possible traffic accident with injury in the 1500 block of Parker Court shortly after 10:00 Sunday night.

The caller said a man had crashed a motorcycle and was attempting to break into a residence.

Arriving officers found Turner intoxicated on the side of the home, and when they attempted to take him into custody, he struck an officer multiple times.

Turner is due back in court Friday for a preliminary hearing.
