One of Janesville’s longest running community organizations will soon be ceasing operations.

Janesville Noon Kiwanis Club Immediate Past President Beth Tallon says the group had a hard time bouncing back from the pandemic, and a lot of members are full time workers and with staffing shortages they’re working more and able to volunteer less.

Tallon says one of their most popular events, Kiwanis Pancake Day, will have to end with the closure, but people have already inquired about the equipment and she believes the event will live on in some capacity in the future.

Tallon says they don’t yet have an exact date for when operations will stop, but it will be determined at an upcoming board meeting.
