The City of Fort Atkinson has awarded a local childcare center a $100,000 grant through their Capital Catalyst Revolving Loan program.

City Manager Rebecca Houseman says Lil Hawks Kidz Academy has purchased a once vacant building and plans to use the money to renovate the building, get it up to code, and start serving the community later this year.

Houseman says the expansion will allow for an additional 95 childcare openings including infants, toddlers, preschool, wrap around and before and after school programs; as well as the creation of 20 news jobs when the facility is at full capacity.
