Coming up Wednesday, Rock County first responders are going to provided training to help eliminate sleep-related infant deaths.
Public Health Nurse Abbi Brown says since 2018, there have been over ten infant deaths in Rock County alone due to unsafe sleep hazards, and over a two year period from 2019 to 2021, there were 167 sudden unexpected infant deaths that occurred in the sleep environment.
Brown says Rock County will be the first, but hopefully not the last county to hold this type of training, and first responders in the county will be able to provide resources to families should they need the extra help to prevent these types of deaths.
Brown says first responders can reach out to her or their department lead for a signup link.
