The City of Janesville hopes that Rock County will shell out more than initially included in the 2024 budget for the Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center.
During a WSCC update Monday night, Deputy City Manager Ryan McCue says they were thrilled that County Administrator Josh Smith included $500,000 for the project in his initial budget.
McCue says last week City Manager Kevin Lahner met with multiple Rock County Board Supervisors and requested an amendment to their budget adding an additional $1 million for the project, so they hope they can get a total of $1.5 million for the WSCC from the county.
The county is expected to adopt their budget at a November 14th meeting.
