The Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport in Janesville is on the receiving end of a $851,000 federal grant.
Director Greg Cullen says the money from the Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Grant program could be used to put in a third taxiway for their east hangar development.
U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin announced on Friday that airports across Wisconsin will receive over $38 million in federal funding for infrastructure upgrades – including investments in runways, taxiways, safety and sustainability projects, terminal upgrades, airport-transit connections, and roadway projects.
Cullen says the airport in Janesville received about $750,000 in 2022 and a little over $800,000 in 2023 from the bipartisan infrastructure law.
