A local non-profit works to make the holidays a little brighter for the less fortunate.

Wednesday is the deadline for parents to sign up for ECHO’s Christmas assistance program.

Executive Director Jessica Locher says to sign up, you need to bring in proof of residency and proof of income.

Locher says parents will receive a goodie bag with books, games, and stocking stuffers, along with a gift card to Target or Blain’s Farm and Fleet so they can pick out a bigger gift for their child.

ECHO’s annual community Christmas Day dinner is happening on December 25th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at St. Williams’s Catholic Church.
