Turtle Island Park in Beloit is in need of a total overhaul, and Beloit residents got their first look at plans for the park this week.

Parkitecture and Planning Representative Blake Theisen says a bridge connected by two towers will take center stage at the new park, with one tower resembling a snapped off tree that features play elements, and the another tower representing a treehouse.

Theisen says after receiving feedback on site from parents and even kids, a giant ant will be at the park that kids can play on.

Residents can view a presentation of the new park plans by visiting the city’s website, where they can also fill out a survey to offer feedback.
