A residential fire in the Town of Union early Monday morning has caused substantial damage, according to Brooklyn Fire and EMS officials.

According to a release, shortly after 5:30am Monday the Brooklyn Fire and EMS Protection District was alerted for a residential structure fire in the sixteen thousand block of West Holt Road.

A 911 call was made by the property owner and a Rock County Sheriff deputy arrived and confirmed flames were coming from the roof of the home.

The incident address was in an area not serviced by municipal hydrants, so 17,000 gallons of water had to be supplied by responding trucks to stop and control the fire.

Multiple local agencies responded to the blaze, including Rock County Sheriff’s, Evansville Fire and E-M-S, and Footville.

Brooklyn Fire and EMS officials don’t have an official damage cost estimate, but say no one was injured in the fire.
