Cash bond is set at $2,500 for an 18-year-old from Janesville who police say stabbed a family member twice in the chest on Sunday.

Ryder Sanborn made his initial appearance before Rock County Court Commissioner Jack Hoag Monday afternoon on charges of first-degree reckless injury and disorderly conduct.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim attacked his mother after she tried to prevent him from taking a laptop. Sanborn and his two juvenile brothers came to her defense, with Sanborn stabbing the victim twice in the chest.

Sanborn is scheduled to appear back in Rock County Court on Friday.
