
A 27-year-old South Beloit man who drunkenly rolled his SUV into a yard full of people in Beloit, dies less then a month after being released from jail.
According to the criminal complaint, a family of seven was in the yard of a home on the 900 block of Vernon Avenue in Beloit just after 4:30 the afternoon of April 26th.
Joshua Amundrud crashed his vehicle into the yard, striking one person. The victim suffered a broken leg. Six other people were lucky enough to flee the path of Amundrud’s oncoming vehicle.
Beloit Police say officers found empty single-serve 99 Bananas bottles and an empty beer can in Amundrud’s rolled SUV.
According to online court records, Amundrud plead guilty November 8th to causing injury while operating under the influence, and three counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety. Four additional counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, knowingly operating while suspended causing great bodily harm, and causing injury while operating with a prohibited alcohol content were dismissed but read into the record.
Judge Ashley Morse sentenced Amundrud to 120 days in the Rock County Jail and four years of probation. He had already served 106 days.
According to an online obituary Amundrud died unexpectedly on December 29th.
