A local school board fills its ranks after a member’s resignation. The Milton School Board Monday night selected former candidate David Holterman, a vice-president at First Community Bank in Milton, to fill the seat vacated by Mike Pierce. Holterman and Jennifer Johns, a certified fundraising executive for Mercyhealth, were the only two who applied for the appointment. Holterman, who was chosen on a 5-to-1 vote, was narrowly defeated, in last month’s election, for a seat on the board. Holterman’s appointment runs until next April’s regular election.
