Janesville police arrest the same man twice for separate operating while intoxicated charges just 13 hours apart.

42-year-old Robert Luek of Janesville has three prior OWI convictions, and police said he now has three additional pending charges all from the last week.

Officers were first dispatched Monday night to the report of a man passed out in a vehicle at the McDonalds on Pontiac Drive just after 11:30 p.m.

Luek failed field sobriety testing and was arrested before being released to a responsible party pending his initial court appearance.

Then early Tuesday afternoon, police encountered Luek driving a vehicle in both lanes of Centerway Street, and they pulled him over on Milton Avenue for another field sobriety test.

Officers reported Luek could “barely keep his eyes open,” and he admitted to using heroin before the traffic stop. This time, he was taken to the Rock County Jail.
