Prosecutors charge a town of Janesville man with five counts of possession of child pornography.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Department arrested 27-year-old Tyler Johnson Friday on the suspicion of 10 counts of the same crime.

They executed a search warrant at his home and discovered child pornography on his devices.

Detectives received an online tip and conducted a multi-week investigation prior to the arrest.

Court Commissioner Jack Hoag ordered Johnson to be held on a signature bond with strict pre-trial supervision, which includes conditions of no contact with any minors and no access to the internet.

If convicted, each count comes with a minimum sentence of three years in prison.
