The School District of Beloit takes parent and staff input on its plans for in-person learning next fall.

Superintendent Dan Keyser presented the school board with the results of a school planning survey Tuesday, which received responses from over 1,100 district families and over 250 employees.

Over 80 percent of respondents in each group agreed with Keyser’s goal to return to full 5-day-a-week, in-person learning in the fall as opposed to the cohort model they operated under this spring.

The safety mitigation factors that were most important to district stakeholders included access to hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies, access to testing and contact tracing.

Keyser plans to only require masks in school buildings where students are not eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, which would currently include the elementary and intermediate schools.

The school board will vote on the final learning plan for the fall during their next meeting July 6.
