A 29-year-old Janesville man is taken into custody for a domestic violence incident in Janesville following a standoff in Beloit.

According to a news release, Janesville police were dispatched to a residence on the 1500 block of Mole Avenue on the report of domestic violence with injuries.

The victim, who required medical attention, identified Gregory Xavier Ashford as the suspect, and said he fled before officers arrived.

Officer located Ashford at a home on Highland Avenue in Beloit and set up a perimeter. After several hours, Ashford surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.

Ashford is currently on felony probation for burglary to a dwelling and possession with intent to deliver heroin.
