Milton Police are investigating the report of an armed robbery.

According to a news release, a witness reported observing a vehicle strike some garbage cans near the intersection of Brown and Arthur Drives just before 8:30 Wednesday morning.

When the vehicle became disabled, the suspects abandoned it in the road and fled on foot to a house on Sue Lane where they entered an occupied home through an unlocked door.

The suspects pointed guns at the residents and stole one of their vehicle.

Law enforcement made several attempts to stop the stolen vehicle after spotting it heading north on the Interstate, before finding it abandoned in the town of Madison.

The abandoned vehicle had been reported stolen out of Madison in August.

Milton Police believe the incident may be related to the theft of a vehicle from the same neighborhood last week that was later recovered in Madison.
