Freezing winter weather can wreak havoc on water pipes.

Beloit Director of Strategic Communications Sarah Lock says a frozen water pipe is the homeowner’s responsibility.

Lock says the easiest way to prevent pipes from freezing is to simple run a thin stream of water.

Lock says if you’re planning on being away for any length of time, you should have a neighbor check your house, and run the water.
