SSM Health and the Janesville Jets hockey team are partnering up to promote the importance of childhood literacy in Rock County.

SSM Director of Community Health Megan Timm says this partnership gets them out of the normal healthcare partnerships they’re used to, and they’ll be sponsoring the Jets Reading Club program.

Timm says as part of the program, Jets players will visit classrooms and students can receive a four pack of tickets to a Jets game in March if they achieve their goal.

Timm says the program is free for teachers to sign up for, and teachers can tailor the goals of the program to best fit their classes.

Teachers interested in signing up for the program are encouraged to contact the Janesville Jets.
