A 49-year-old Freeport, Illinois man who’s accused of burglarizing a home outside of Clinton and fleeing naked takes a plea deal in Rock County Court.

Last week William Hoefle plea guilty to burglary and no contest to charges of theft and criminal damage to property.

Judge Derrick Grubb found Hoefle guilty and ordered his sentence withheld with a total of seven years of probation.

According to the criminal complaint, the homeowner awoke in June of 2022 to find 26-year-old Archie Saros of Hayward in the kitchen and Hoefle in the shower. Hoefle fled in the nude and was later arrested hiding in a culvert.

A two day trial is planned in April for Saros.
