During a stop in Janesville Tuesday afternoon, Governor Evers announced his proposed 2023-2025 budget includes $15 million towards the Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center project.

Evers says the project will bring unlimited opportunities to the Janesville area and will bring crowds from Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago to help bolster the local economy.

Evers says the Convention Center is the type of project that supports not only local economies about also statewide economies.

The projects in the Governor’s Capital Budget proposal must be still be approved by the State Building Commission, the Wisconsin Legislature’s Joint Committee on Finance, and then the full legislature.
