The Rock County Sheriff’s office is making the public aware of a recent string of fraudulent phone calls.

According to a release, a male caller has been identifying themselves as a deputy with the Sheriff’s Office Fraud Department and asks to check accounts to make sure there is no fraudulent activity.

Another set of fraudulent calls saw a caller claim to be a deputy with the Columbia County Sheriff’s office and told person receiving the call they had failed to appear for jury duty in Columbia County and warrants were out for their arrest.

The Rock County Sheriff’s office encourages the public to let family and friends know about these scams and anyone receiving them should report them to the county’s communication center.
