The configuration of the Beloit School District is going to look a bit different starting in the 2023-2024 school year.

Superintendent Dr. Willie Garrison says the district will go from four intermediate schools to two, with Alrich and Fruzen intermediate schools serving all students in the district grades 6th through 8th.

Garrison says students who were scheduled to attend Cunningham school will instead attend Fruzen, and students who were supposed to attend McNeel will go to Aldrich in the upcoming school year.

Garrison says district staffing, including volunteer resignations, retirement, and possible layoffs will be addressed by May 15th.

The district is also considering repurposing McNeel as a community space, based on community feedback.
