A cautionary tale of political ambition and corrupted power takes the stage as UW Whitewater wraps up the season with performances of MacBeth.

Director Bruce Cohen says it should be an exciting show featuring a great deal of stage combat and sword fighting, and MacBeth is Shakespeare’s second bloodiest play but they’ve tailored the show for most ages.

Cohen says Shakespeare was inspired to write the play by James the First, and is a scathing social commentary and political satire on the dangerous and corrupt power at the time.

Shows run Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 1:00pm in the Barnett Theatre.
