A Janesville non-profit is filling a gap in the need for services for people ready to kick a drug habit.

CEO Ian Hedges says HealthNet of Rock County is now operating a substance use treatment drop-in clinic.

Hedges says the County already offers these services, but it’s only available three days a week in Janesville.

Hedges says when someone has the desire to get off drugs, there is a very short window for them to stick with the change so it’s important to initiate services immediately and make it as barrier-free as possible.

Hedges says meeting a compassionate and caring person during the change stage can make all the difference in the success of a person’s recovery.
