With more than 10 events planned throughout the state, the Ice Age Trail Alliance is making it easy for the public to participate in National Trails Day on Saturday, June 3rd.

The Rock County chapter of the Ice Age Trail Alliance invites citizens to participate in a 5.2 mile hike from the North pavilion in Riverside Park to the rustic cabin in the Janesville School Outdoor Lab.

Trail Coordinator Dennis James says the event kicks off at 9:00 a.m.

James says bathrooms and refreshments will be available at the outdoor lab. Anyone who’s unable to make the hike back can get a ride in a chase vehicle.

The Ice Age Trail Alliance is a non-profit, member and volunteer-based organization which conserves, creates, maintains, and promotes the Ice Age National Scenic Trail.
