Several local organizations have a month of activities planned to celebrate Pride month.

Family Services of Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois LGBTQ+ Survivor Advocate Stephanie Hormig says by embracing diversity and fostering a sense of belonging, Pride events not only empower individuals but also inspire social change.

Janesville Pride kicks off the festivities with an event called out-n-about.

It will take place Sunday from noon until 6:00 p.m. in the Palmer Park Hilltop Pavilion.

The free event will include lawn games, face painting, a bonfire, a free clothing closet, and more.

Attendees are welcome to bring entertainment such as games, musical instruments, and art supplies. Bring a picnic or enjoy a food truck meal.
