The United Way Blackhawk Region continues to struggle financially coming out of the pandemic.
Although more than $2.6 million was awarded as part of the 2023-2025 community grant cycle, it represents a reduction of the investment in previous years.
President and CEO Mary Fanning-Penny says a total of 30 programs, administered by 16 nonprofit agencies, were funded.
Fanning-Penny says all of the programs that were awarded funds focus on health, education, or financial stability.
