The Ice Age Trail Alliance blazes a new segment of trail through Evansville.

Ice Age Trail Alliance Director of Marketing and Community Relations Melissa Pierick says a 1.7 mile path that goes through Evansville had previously only been a connector route.

The public is invited to a trailblazing event on Wednesday from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. beginning at Lake Leota Park.

With the addition of the Evansville Segment, Rock County will have 25.1 miles of official Trail and 39.4 miles of connecting route between official segments.
