The Caledonia Road bridge across the Yahara River is getting a new deck 57 years after it was first built.

Rock County Highways chief Duane Jorgensen says the bridge, first built in 1966, gets a full tearout and replacement of its deck. That’s alongside a new paint job to the bridge’s abutments and underpinnings, which Jorgensen says are still in good shape.

He says designs are about 30 percent complete for the project, and the work’s slated to roll in 2025,

The county is hosting an open house to give more details of the bridge project at 7 p.m. October 5 at Porter Town Hall.
